Here is Some In-Depth Shipping Information


All orders are shipped via postal service (in Canada, we use Canada Post and in the US we use USPS). Shipping costs are the fair reflection of actual charges. There has been an increase in the cost to ship goods due to high fuel costs. We have had to follow suit and adjust our prices accordingly. Instead of raising the prices on our products, we chose to go with actual shipping costs instead.

If my parcel is sent 'default' Expresspost, is there a delivery on-time guarantee?
Shipping times for default Expresspost shipping are guaranteed 1-4 days unless you are in certain states E.G. Texas or Arizona, apparently because of 'having their own'customs in-state. Shipping speed is guaranteed in Canada and some states in the USA (upper states)always and always in some countries.  Guarantees are through CanadaPost not by us so when a settlement is reached between Longhairs and Canadapost your card may be credited. Expresspost is super and highly recommended as customer's 1st choice!

  Please be advised that since the catalog is so huge, we are always working on the shipping estimates area. Estimates at the time of order placement will be more exact for Xpresspost this is now in place, a requested 'over-ride' for 'Small Packet flat-ish rates' installed by our programmer. Canada Post does not supply less than premium type automation, this so it has been  done with our programmers, right now we over-ride $ in shipping areas as per reality, or as speed specified in your additional notes, by hand before any billing is done. Sometimes with the great variety of items sizes and combination sets we have CanadaPost System send the order a 000 if it gets confused this does not mean the shipping is free. If you are concerned about shpping costs please select small packet thet will give you budget rate shipping. Canada Post does not estimate this so  we estimate it at $8.00 but tht may be adjusted at billing if your order is a few dollars more because of weight or location. Thanks.



Budget Shipping
You might notice the new shipping quote feature:-) please note that IF you require less-than Xpresspost shipping on orders or if 'combs only' or packet is under an average weight or value we can change shipping to benefit you, before we process your total. You may select to request it if your order qualifies.

We get a huge variety of sizes of and types of orders...varying from one extreme to the other. This new system you are seeing here, is custom-programmed and is being enhanced,  adjusted, and re-adjusted until done...please realize the creative flow and your continued patience is appreciated as is your wonderful feedback you are invited to send. We care what your experiences were like or... not.

Q: Why is my tiny Canadian order put in a bigger box than I personally deem to be necessary.

A: Because Canada post has a box size minimum for the size of label they use on the outside of the box. if sent on anything smaller it will not quote for us, nor would it send properly, it would be returned to us at extra expense and delay.

Q: I am within Canada, and usually order without specifying speed. This time I requested Small packet, why was it sent Expedited?

A: Because Canada doesn't have Small Packet service like it does offer to places like the USA and some other countries. Expedited is essentially the same speed but does not allow for a smaller commercial mailing size than is required for sending Expedited.



The Shipping amount you see immediately upon checkout is not necessarily reflecting what is to be charged for your order's shipping at the time of final billing.  It is an estimate not a quote. It is supposed to be a help, better than no ballpark like the old system, now you have a ballpark, we listened. (let's see a smile  )

If lesser shipping because of size value or weight of order is ever desired, kindly DO put "Small packet please" into the handy box entitled "Additional notes" on your order while placing the order and we will change the cost you see.
The currently seen shipping price WILL be adjusted by us by hand to reflect your requested speed before actual billing. We bill in-house and not on-line. (Don't worry, we'll take of changing this amount before your card is billed)

Please note for orderers of our Horn combs and other of our personal items there is a 'no returns' policy in effect both for health and quality reasons. Kindly try to be sure of your order or ask for help in deciding beforehand. (would you buy a comb that someone else returned?) We wouldn't want to throw it out just because you didn't like it, it cannot be sanitized. Perhaps regift it to someone who will appreciate it? This rule applies to all of our items. Thank you.

Thanks to you, our dedicated supporters and clients, mainly because of our huge volume of orders we ship out these days including the sending out our beautiful small medium and extra-large horn combs, we can now pass these savings on to you. Simply put your alternate preferred shipping note in 'additional notes' box and it shall become so before we bill your card on shipping day.

USA 'Small Packet' is the best option for shipping small-sized orders like horn combs.


The
shipping rates range for 'Small Packet' air is: $6.20 (0-250g), $8.20 (250-500g) (1.1 lbs or less)and 12.75 (500g- 1kg) (2.2 lbs or less)

The shipping rates range for 'Small Packet' surface is: $4.85 (0-250g), $6.90 (250-500g) 1 lb or less and 10.30 (500g- 1kg)

Weights over these (or order is over 100 dollars) and feeling very budget-mind-set, may alternatively ask for 'Expedited' (carried on the back of a turtle possibly through a soccer field), or 'Small Packet' (a economical budget-mined decent choice not in a hurry)   

They both include liability coverage up to $100 but additional coverage can't be purchased for 'Small Packet'.

Combs and smaller orders valued over 100 dollars please assume we will use 'Xpresspost' our default shopping cart choice. 'Xpresspost' and is sort-of equivalent to 'Priority Post USA', except it's from Canada.

To peruse option to 'Small Packet' for your order, simply request it in a note requesting 'Small Packet' if your order fits within the above guidelines, (6 days to a month allowed for both alternate speeds IF requested and approved).

Unless we are otherwise notified... we ship all orders via by our 'preferred' default-catalog-setting,  the trusty 'Xpresspost' ....our very reasonable and most popular and efficient shipping speed (under 5 days from 'sent ticket date')

Our default setting is always trusty 'Xpresspost' and it can be applied to any type or size of order.

'Xpresspost' is actively tracked (and a plus of on-time from sending with 'Xpresspost' is guaranteed by Canada Post and does not count holidays and weekends).


My parcel was sent back by my post office after it cleared customs. Can you refund me and send me another?
 When we get it back we will be sending another, but if it is delayed we must wait it out before refunding to see WHAT EXACTLY HAPPENNED so that it CAN BE PREVENTED. Borders are very peculiar at times as are some postal workers!!  Longhairs company itself does not guarantee shipping, but often Canadapost does, all packages are insured and claims on Expedited are up to 30 days. Expresspost (which is great)is different  in every State of the USA. We understand and don't mind resending while we wait for investigation, but it is NOT recommended and we would need to bill your card for the second order if this is what you wish to do. When you first order is claimed and assessed, we will refund you for the first parcel immediately.

 Because "hands-on' packing and processing requires care, Parcels are shipped either within 5 business days or on Mondays, our regular shipping day whichever comes first. Emergencies please discuss.
